On June 23-24, 2025, CEGA and NIERA will co-host the 13th annual Africa Evidence Summit, focusing on “Better Data for Decision-Making.” The Summit will spotlight cost-effective, policy-relevant, transparent, and inclusive research. Sessions will focus on climate change, agriculture, education and labor, financial inclusion, and other topics related to economic development in sub-Saharan Africa. The event will also amplify African scholars’ voices, incubate new collaborations, and innovate better ways to integrate evidence into decision-making.
This in-person event is free and by registration only. CEGA regrets it is unable to accommodate virtual participation or attendance for this in-person event. The registration link and event agenda will be posted early next year.
For the call for speakers, we welcome all topics related to development economics (including health and psychology, agriculture, climate & environment, gender, conflict & displacement, institutions & governance, and work & education).
1. Researchers: Researchers are welcome to submit an abstract for a poster showcasing early-stage research in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) or to disseminate policy-relevant research findings from completed studies. We prefer studies that use impact evaluation studies.
2. Programs: We welcome organizations to showcase their work in advancing evidence-informed policy in SSA.This is also an opportunity for organizations to highlight capacity-strengthening initiatives (and relevant learnings for the community) and to publicize upcoming opportunities for African scholars.
June 25 will feature a special day of collaborative sessions hosted by the conference organizers. Stay tuned for more information.
