Institutionalizing Impact Evaluation at the IDB

Training   |  past event  |  Jul 27 2015

The Berkeley-IDB Impact Evaluation Collaborative (BIC) was originally developed with the aim of institutionalizing impact evaluations of IDB-funded projects. The program will wrap up its second year by conducting a follow-up training July 27-31, 2015 on UC Berkeley’s campus. In July of 2014, 12 evaluation teams—each made up of both IDB staff and local-national government counterparts—were invited to Berkeley for a 2-week Executive Education course in impact evaluation. Following that event, 6 teams were chosen to receive continued remote evaluation mentorship from UC faculty. After a year of remote mentorship, the 6 teams will be returning to Berkeley for additional training and continued collaboration with their faculty mentors. The aim of this program is to increase the capacity of both IDB staff and government counterparts to conduct rigorous impact evaluations through a combination of lecturing and direct mentorship.
