CEGA was founded to generate rigorous empirical research on the impacts of economic and social development programs, ensuring that evidence informs policy decisions. This allows governments, NGOs and philanthropists to invest their resources effectively.

CEGA integrates insights from diverse disciplines—economics, psychology, computer science, and engineering—and prioritizes direct experience. Alongside nearly 200 faculty, 90 scholars from low- and middle-income countries, and hundreds of graduate students, your generous support allows us to tackle urgent challenges that drive meaningful, measurable change in the lives of people living in poverty worldwide.
