Shibiru Melesse

Assistant Professor, ASTU

Shibiru Ayalew Melesse is an assistant professor at Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) and a nationally certified management consultant. He holds a PhD in Technology and Innovation Management. He also holds an MBA and a BA in Business Management. He was a research fellow at the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA), UC Berkeley in 2017, and at the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) Berlin, Germany, in 2023. He has extensive experience working with policymakers and institutions such as the Oromia Science and Technology Authority, Oromia Industrial Development Corporation, Ethiopian Investment Commission, Oromia Trade Bureau, Addis Ababa Health Bureau, and Ministry of Agriculture. He specializes in evidence generation using impact evaluation methodologies, has developed training manuals for policymakers, and has delivered capacity-building training to researchers, policymakers, and funders. He is also experienced in conducting and coordinating large-scale field research. His research interests include financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, gender, and team effectiveness. He is member of the Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa (NIERA) and a the Ethiopian Economics Association (EEC).
