Sarobidy Rakotonarivo

Sarobidy Rakotonarivo is a senior research fellow at the University of Antananarivo and the founder of Mitsilo, a research lab advancing interdisciplinary social science in Madagascar. Her research applies microeconomics and mixed-methods impact evaluation to examine how climate initiatives affect people and biodiversity, and how rigorous evidence can inform more equitable and effective programs. She has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and is a recipient of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Sub-Saharan Africa Award. She holds a doctoral degree in environmental socioeconomics from Bangor University and the University of Copenhagen and a Master of Science in sustainable tropical forestry.
