Sara Lowes

Sara Lowes is an Assistant Professor of Economics at University of California, San Diego. Her research is at the intersection of development economics, political economy, and economic history. She studies the effects of culture for development and the processes that shape institutions and culture. Much of her on-going work is in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She graduated from Harvard University in May 2017 with a Ph.D. from the Political Economy and Government Program (Economics track).
