Samwel Nassary

PhD Candidate, Norwegian University of Science and Technology

Samwel Nassary is a doctoral candidate in economics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Norway and an assistant lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. His research is motivated by a commitment to transforming mindsets to improve the lives of people living in poverty, especially those in rural sectors such as fisheries and agriculture.

His work sits at the intersection of political economy, environmental economics and development economics, with a focus on how individuals and communities manage resources, interact with economic institutions and engage within local social structures. Nassary primarily uses behavioral field experiments, surveys and game-based methods designed for low-literacy settings.
