Randall K. Akee

Randall Akee is an Associate Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles in the Department of Public Policy and American Indian Studies. He completed his Ph.D. at Harvard University in June 2006. In 2022, he was appointed as a Senior Economist on the Council of Economic Advisers at Executive Office of the President. He is also the co-editor of the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management. His main research interests are Labor Economics, Economic Development and Migration.  Dr. Akee has worked on several American Indian reservations, Canadian First Nations, and Pacific Island nations in addition to working in various Native Hawaiian communities and currently serves as the Chair of the America Indian Studies Interdepartmental Program.
