
Michel Ndayikeza

Dr. Michel Armel Ndayikeza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Burundi, and the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Management. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Clermont Auvergne, CERDI. His research focuses on development economics, particularly labor and education, using experimental and quasi-experimental methods. His academic work includes publications in The Journal of Development Economics and Defence and Peace Economics. As an African Fellow in Education 2024 and a J-PAL LAI grantee, Michel is currently investigating the potential of television screens to improve the quality of education in primary schools across Africa. Since 2023, he has been contributing as an education economist to the “Twige Neza” project led by the Ministry of Education in Burundi, and funded by the Global Partnership for Education and the French Development Agency.
