Mercy Funke Salami

Dr. Mercy Funke Salami is a senior lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management at the University of Ilorin in Nigeria. She is a development economist whose research focuses on poverty, mental health, food security, innovation systems, conflict management, climate change and impact evaluation. She is the 2025 recipient of the AAEA Trust Uma Lele Special Mentorship Fund. She currently chairs the research coordination area on advancing inclusive agricultural innovation for climate resilience in sub-Saharan Africa under the African Network for Economics of Learning, Innovation and Competence Building Systems (AfricaLics). She previously received the 2012 Best Graduating Student Award from the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Ilorin.
