Halefom Yigzaw Nigus

Halefom Yigzaw Nigus is working as a research fellow at the Ethiopian Policy Studies Institute (former EDRI). Halefom holds Ph.D. in Development Economics from UNU-MERIT, Maastricht University, the Netherlands. Previously, he worked as a Consultant at the World Bank Group (WBG), where he contributed significantly to a large-scale Randomized Controlled Trial study. Prior to joining PSI and the WBG, Halefom also worked as a consultant at the University of Oxford’s Refugee Economies project and as a lecturer and head of department at the Department of Economics, Dilla University, Ethiopia. Furthermore, Halefom was recently a CEGA Fellow at the Global Poverty Research Lab, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Halefom’s research interest lies at the intersection of development, labor, and behavioral economics. His skill set includes extensive experience in conducting lab-in-the-field experiments and rural and urban household surveys, firm surveys, and utilizing microeconometric methods.
