Data Scientist
Farooq works on integrating MOSAIKS into agricultural policy in the Government of Togo.
Farooq is a data scientist at the Togo Data Lab, a joint initiative between CEGA’s Data Science for Development (DS4D) portfolio and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Transformation in Togo.
Prior to joining CEGA, Farooq worked in the mining industry where he developed machine learning solutions to improve productivity and reduce health and safety risks. He holds an MS in Applied Mathematics from Polytechnique Montreal.
Outside of work, Farooq enjoys playing tennis and soccer, finding joy in the strategy, agility, and teamwork that these sports require. These same principles guide his work at the Togo Data Lab, where he strives to democratize the use of machine learning.
