David Dow

Assistant Professor

David Dow is an Assistant Professor at the Naval Postgraduate School. His research examines questions of political violence, state-building, and governance with a particular focus on how post-conflict countries manage the reconstruction process after civil wars. Additionally, his research focuses on three main themes: 1) policing and security in the developing world; 2) the connections between electoral politics, conflict, and local development; and 3) factors shaping the reintegration of deportees. Previously, he was a Research Scientist at the University of Arizona and a postdoc at Duke University. He received his PhD in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
