
Christina Fille
Manager of Research and Innovation, National Planning Commission
Christina Thomas Fille is a Tanzanian economist and currently serves as the Manager of Research and Innovation in the National Planning Commission, Tanzania. Previously, she was a Lecturer of Economics at the Institute of Social Work (ISW). She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT).
She has extensive experience in conducting empirical social science research using both experimental and quasi-experimental methods, as well as in the collection of original data. Her expertise includes the application of Randomized Control Trials (RCT), Instrumental Variable analysis, Regression Discontinuity Design, Difference-in-Differences, and Propensity Score Matching in rigorous impact evaluation research.
Dr. Fille also received specialized training in impact evaluation from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a CEGA Fellow in 2019. Her research interests span Development Economics, Labour Economics, International Economics, Public Economics, and Impact Evaluation. In addition to her academic and research work, she is a member and the Treasurer of the Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa (NIERA).
