Chelsea Downs

Chelsea is the lead program manager for the Global Networks portfolio, including managing fellowships and capacity-building activities, research grants, global events, partnership development, and research dissemination for CEGA’s East Africa Social Science Translation (EASST) Collaborative and Development Impact West Africa (DIWA) program. Before joining CEGA, Chelsea worked in social impact at Ashoka and at UC San Diego’s International Students and Programs Office. She previously worked extensively with high school exchange students through the American Field Service (AFS) and Education First (EF). Chelsea holds a Master’s in International Affairs with a focus on Nonprofit Management and International Development from UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy. She also holds a BA in International Relations from San Francisco State.
