Apollo Maima
Prof. Apollo Maima has a PhD in Community Health and Development (Disease Impact and Illness Costing) and is a CEGA (Centre for Effective Global Action of UC Berkeley) Fellow in Implementation Research. He is the Dean, School of Pharmacy at Maseno University and a former Dean School of Pharmacy & Health Sciences at USIU-Africa. Memberships: American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH); International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP); Board of Management of the National Quality Control Laboratories (2015 2015 – 2016); Training and Assessment Technical Committee of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya (2012-2018); Experts /Specialization Committee of the Board (2018 to-date); and the Ministerial Committee for the Kenya National Pharmaceutical Policy (KNPP) in 2010. He is a Registered and contracted Assessor /Expert with the Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) since 2020 and current Editor-in-Chief of the Pharmaceutical Journal of Kenya. Maima is a widely published Pharmaceutical Analyst; Public Health Specialist & Epidemiologist; and Implementation Research Scientist and Trainer, with over 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical production and quality assurance; policy formulation, curricula development, research, teaching and mentorship in the health sector. He represented Kenya at the FIP Global Conference on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education (November 2016) in Nanjing, China.
