Anna Boser

Anna Boser is a postdoctoral scholar and environmental scientist at CEGA, where her research uses satellite remote sensing and artificial intelligence to answer a central question: how do we feed the world without depleting the resources it depends on? She develops techniques to document agricultural practices and their effects on food production and the environment at scale, with a particular focus on irrigation and water resources. With the Togo AI Lab, she is developing methods to improve satellite remote sensing of agriculture by optimizing ground truth survey sampling. She leverages her innovations in agricultural remote sensing to inform economically and environmentally sustainable agricultural management. Anna holds a PhD in Environmental Science and Management from UC Santa Barbara and a BA in Statistics from UC Berkeley. She is the 2024 recipient of the AGU Science for Solutions Award and the 2020 UC Berkeley University Medal.
