Akash Shaji

Predoctoral Research Fellow

Akash Shaji is a Predoctoral Research Fellow with the Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS), where he supports the Reporting Guidelines for Publication Bias project to enhance transparency and reproducibility in social science research. He also works on the Kenya Life Panel Survey (KLPS), providing comprehensive research support for KLPS-related programs.

Previously, Akash served as a Research Associate with the World Bank on the Impact Data and Evidence Aggregation Library (IDEAL) project, focusing on elections and governance. For his master’s thesis, he led a randomized controlled trial on gamified financial literacy and aspirations among rural women in India.

Akash holds an MS in International and Development Economics from the University of San Francisco and a BSc in Economics, Statistics, and Mathematics from St. Aloysius University in India. His research interests include the psycho-social and behavioral dimensions of poverty, impact evaluations, and environmental justice.
