Aja Fatou Senghore

Aja Fatou Senghore (CEGA Visiting Fellow) is a Lecturer in Finance at the University of The Gambia’s School of Business and Public Administration. She holds a Master of Science degree in Islamic Finance from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance from the University of The Gambia.
She has led and contributed to multiple research and consultancy projects, including a project with the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) on the Impact of Play-Based Learning on Early Childhood Education in The Gambia; a rapid needs assessment for small-scale cross-border traders under the Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund Joint Programme; and social audits for two state parastatals in The Gambia funded by Gambia Participates.
Her research interests focus on Early Childhood Education, financial inclusion, microfinance institutions, and the economic empowerment of women, with a broader commitment to generating evidence that informs policy and promotes inclusive economic development.
