Achyuta Adhvaryu

Achyuta Adhvaryu is a Professor of Economics at UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy, where he serves as Director of the UCSD 21st Century India Center. He is also a co-founder and member of the board of directors at Good Business Lab, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the well-being of low-income workers around the world. His research focuses on worker and firm productivity, management and organizational behavior, and health economics in low-income contexts. Professor Adhvaryu was born in India and moved to the U.S. at a young age.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in math and economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004, and a doctorate in economics from Yale University in 2009. Prior to his appointment at UC San Diego, he was on the faculty at Yale and the University of Michigan.
