Abebe Ayana

Abebe Ayana is a Researcher at the Policy Studies Institute in Ethiopia and a 2025 CEGA Fellow from Ethiopia. His research focuses on development economics, particularly labor market dynamics and employment, small business development and entrepreneurship, trade and industrial policy, and the livelihoods of internally displaced persons. Previously, he was a faculty member at Haramaya University and worked as a short-term consultant for the World Bank. Ayana holds a Ph.D. in Development Economics from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in Japan and an M.Sc. in Economics, with a focus on Economic Policy Analysis, from Addis Ababa University.
