Closed Call for Proposals – Security Networks and Contested Orders Seed Fund

We’re pleased to announce a closed request for proposals for participants of our 2025 Multi-actor Security Networks workshop series in Honolulu, Accra, and Singapore. This seed fund—made possible by the Carnegie Corporation of New York—is designed to deepen collaboration among this network of ~60 scholars and practitioners working on how multi-actor security networks are reshaping global security. This seed fund is part of CEGA’s Security Networks and Contested Orders initiative.

This call supports:

  • Small conceptual-development grants (up to $2,000) to refine emerging ideas
  • Small original research grants (up to $10,000) for rigorous, original research

Priority will be given to research teams led by or including scholars based in West Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific. We’re proud to invest in early-career researchers (especially graduate students!) and regionally grounded partnerships as part of our effort to build a more inclusive global research ecosystem.

Workshop participants have received an email with submission requirements and instructions. We expect to notify selected recipients by September 5th. Please contact Sean Luna McAdams (sean[period]luna[at]berkeley[dot]edu) at the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA), University of California, Berkeley with any questions.
