The Agricultural Technology Adoption Initiative (ATAI) co-hosted an event with the Agricultural Transitions Lab for African Solutions (ATLAS) at the Paris Peace Forum 2024.
African small-scale farmers are critical to the continent’s agricultural sector and to regional food security, but they face a suite of pressures–from the increasing threat of weather-based shocks arising from climate change to a $200 billion funding gap–that is preventing the productivity increases needed to secure food production and farmers’ livelihoods. This event brought together policymakers, researchers, international organizations, and private sector stakeholders to share evidence-backed solutions to some of these pressing challenges and identify actionable policy opportunities to drive sustainable agricultural development on the continent.
