Multi-actor Security Networks and Global Order: Pacific Region Conference

About the Conference
This workshop brings together policymakers and scholars as a part of a multi-university research collaboration funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and led by the Center for Effective Global Action at the University of California, Berkeley. We will also be hosting similar workshops in Southeast Asia and West Africa.
The workshop aims to understand how security institutions and actors in the Pacific affect regional and global order. To this end, we seek to survey the landscape of security arrangements across countries in the region. How do countries in the Pacific build state security structures? What are the existing internal and external security arrangements or programs? How are external governments and multilateral institutions involved in each country’s security infrastructure? And in turn, how do these security arrangements affect international politics?
The event is hosted at the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi from February 24-25, 2025. This is a closed event, by invitation only. If you have any questions about this event, please email Senior Program Manager Sean Luna McAdams at sean [dot] luna [at] berkeley [dot] edu.
