This workshop focused on the use of male circumcision as an HIV prevention intervention. It aimed to highlight lessons learn from other countries engaged in male circumcision scale-up, discuss cross-cutting operational issues, harmonize data collection, and develop rigorous impact evaluations for scale-up programs.
Participants in the workshop worked with impact evaluation experts to design rigorous evaluations of their MC scale-up programs. They also collaborated to identify implementation challenges from ongoing projects and propose potential solutions, while exploring ways to improve efficiencies of MC operations, including bundling with other HIV prevention interventions. Finally, the workshop aimed to build a community of government and private sector teams involved in rigorous evaluation of MC scale-up.
