CEGA Research Retreat (R^2) 2026

The CEGA Research Retreat (R^2) is an annual gathering of invited faculty, job market candidates, postdocs and graduate students from multiple CEGA campuses with a shared interest in impact evaluation for social and economic development. R^2 is designed to generate feedback and discussion around presentations of newly completed, unpublished work by CEGA affiliated faculty and their colleagues.

Agenda

This year, R^2 will be expanded to include dozens more presentations and opportunities for networking, including dedicated opportunities for many, if not all, job market candidates to share their research.

Please submit your abstract as per instructions shared via email and reach out to Lauren Russell (lauren dot russell@berkeley.edu) with questions.

Details and Logistics

• We welcome submissions in all research topics in development economics and works in progress are accepted.
• There will be ample opportunity for faculty to present as well because we’ll have parallel sessions.
• Many campuses have conference funding for faculty and students, if you apply early enough, so please look out for those opportunities (especially for your job market students). Links to resources below**
• Speakers will be notified at the end of August and stay tuned for a separate registration form in early September. Affiliated CEGA faculty will be able to nominate graduate students to attend at that time.
