2025 Harmonized Cognitive Assessment Protocol (HCAP) Meeting

The Center for Effective Global Action is excited to host the HCAP Network‘s 2025 Harmonized Cognitive Assessment Protocol (HCAP) Meeting. This event will be held in Nairobi, Kenya with the aim of bringing together researchers to advance the harmonization of cognitive function assessments in aging populations worldwide, with a special focus on sub-Saharan Africa. We are eager to facilitate attendance and participation of local scientists, in an effort to increase familiarity with the latest HCAP methods and findings.

The HCAP Network is a group of researchers working together to support harmonization of international studies through the utilization of the Protocol. HCAP was designed by the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) team at the University of Michigan in consultation with several of its international sister studies to provide a flexible but comparable instrument for measuring cognitive function among older adults around the world. This group receives funding from the National Institute of Aging and facilitates studies internationally.
