Contract Farming and Technology Adoption in Kenya

This pilot will lay the groundwork to rigorously study the impact of enrolling in a contract farming arrangement. The evaluation will randomize which farmers are newly enrolled and measure the impact on farmer agricultural and non-agricultural income, on several measures of technology adoption, and on food security, among other outcomes. The study relies on the collaboration with a large Kenyan contract farming vegetable and horticulture company, Meru Greens, which is planning to expand its scheme in the next few years.
