Part-Time WordPress Developer,

The Agricultural Technology Adoption Initiative (ATAI), co-managed by the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), is seeking a WordPress developer to upgrade and redesign portions of This project will take place between January – July 2022 and report to Jenna Fahle, Program Manager at CEGA.

Project Description

This project aims to improve our current website ( and to add additional pages on our new initiative, the Digital Agriculture Innovations and Services Initiative (DAISI). The WordPress developer will not be responsible for creating website copy, but ideally will have experience and expertise in user interface. Deliverables include, but are not limited to:

  • Create additional website pages and integrate these pages into the homepage navigation bar
  • Add additional filters to the “Findings & Outreach” and “Our Resources” pages
  • Perform website maintenance and upgrade plug-ins when needed, working with staff to set a maintenance schedule beyond the period of this contract (for staff to take over)
  • Redesign website homepage ensuring accessibility for mobile users
  • Optimize website loading time

Required Qualifications

The developer should have experience and expertise in:

  • Creating, implementing, and maintaining WordPress web pages
  • Website and User Interface (UI) design
  • Website security and ability to reliably backup website data
  • Commitment to producing clean, documented code

Preferred Qualifications

  • Developing websites to support scientific research
  • Ability to connect remotely during Pacific time business hours
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to assess and communicate technical challenges and design decisions
